The Rams are starting slowly every week, and they're already in an early season hole at 1-4

If fans of the Los Angeles Rams feel as if their team is starting every game in a hole during this dismal season, that’s because they are

Braden Fiske - Dealing with shoulder issueHead coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that Fiske is dealing with a sore shoulder following Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
ImpactFiske recorded three total tackles across 33 snaps (29 defensive and four on special teams) in Sunday's loss, but following McVay's comments Monday, it appears he sustained a shoulder injury in the process. Fortunately for Fiske, the Rams are one of four teams with a Week 6 bye, so he will have until Oct. 20 to recover from this issue.

Jordan Whittington - Dealing with shoulder issueCoach Sean McVay noted Monday that Whittington is contending with a shoulder issue following Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactOn the plus side, the report notes that Whittington's availability following the Rams' Week 6 bye shouldn't be affected by the issue. That said, the wideout's status will be worth tracking once the team returns to practice ahead of an Oct. 20 home contest against the Raiders.

Jordan Whittington - Dealing with shoulder issueRams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Whittington is contending with a shoulder issue following Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactOn the plus side, McVay noted that Whittington's availability following the Rams' Week 6 bye shouldn't be affected by the issue. That said, the wideout's status will be worth tracking once the team returns to practice ahead of an Oct. 20 home contest against the Raiders. Whittington has led the Rams with a 13-151-0 line on 18 targets over the past two weeks, but he could lose out on some looks if Cooper Kupp (ankle) and/or Puka Nacua (knee) are able to return to the lineup coming out of the bye week.

Cooper Kupp - Week 7 status TBDCoach Sean McVay said Monday that a Week 7 return for Kupp (ankle) "would be an ideal target," but added that was an "optimistic target date" and "by no means is that guaranteed,"...
ImpactPer Rodrigue, McVay declined to say whether Kupp will return to practice after the Rams' Week 6 bye, so at this stage the wideout's Week 7 status remains cloudy. Kupp suffered a left ankle sprain in the Rams' Sept. 15 loss to the Cardinals, and hasn't practiced since then.

Kamren Curl - Dealing with back injuryHead coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that Curl is dealing with a sore back following Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
ImpactMcVay added that Curl's injury should not affect his availability going forward, especially with the Rams having a Week 6 bye. The first-year Ram has logged 32 total tackles and one pass defended across Los Angeles' first five contests. If Curl's back soreness does impact his availability after the Rams' bye, expect Jaylen McCollough to serve as the team's top strong safety.
